Risk

risk ethics

Although the research is low-risk, the primary responsibility of the research to the participants crucially underpins any research. This is particularly pertitent when the participants are children. It is not intended that the research should cause distress but this could happen inadvertently and needs to be recognised as a potential ara of risk. Distress can be caused due to feelings aroused by recollections or anticipation of future stressful events. The research is taking place with out the researcher present in the homes of children and any follow up interviews will be conducted at school. The School Secretary will keep me informed of the progress of the research and any communication. Appropriate information issued for informed consent will minimise the risk.
